National Hot Chocolate Day has arrived!

National Hot Chocolate Day has arrived, and the gremlins are celebrating in the only way they know how: enthusiastically, messily, and with absolutely no regard for mug capacity.

The day began with careful preparation—by which we mean cocoa powder clouds, marshmallows mysteriously disappearing, and at least one gremlin attempting to “improve” the recipe with extra chocolate and extra enthusiasm. Cream was poured generously. Whipped cream was stacked dangerously high. Someone declared sprinkles a healthy food group.  The argument for chocolate being made from beans and therefore a vegetable and healthy is picked up and discussed for several minutes.

Now the gremlins are settled in, clutching warm mugs, faces smudged with chocolate, proudly debating whose hot chocolate is superior (spoiler: it’s whichever one they’re holding). There’s laughter, sticky countertops, and the unmistakable feeling that winter just got a little cozier.

Today’s reminder? Hot chocolate isn’t just a drink—it’s an experience. Best enjoyed warm, shared often, and maybe supervised… especially if gremlins are involved.
