Laughter and Lemonade Day

Laughter and Lemonade Day:

A Sign From the Universe

Somebody out there — or possibly in a very small bureaucratic office staffed by gremlins — decided that May 3rd should pull double duty this year. It's World Laughter Day and National Lemonade Day, simultaneously, on the same date, as if the calendar itself looked at the way the world is right now and said:

here, have both, you need them.

World Laughter Day started as part of the Laughter Yoga movement — which is exactly what it sounds like, and is considerably less ridiculous than the most normal of things that happens around here.

National Lemonade Day, meanwhile, is the one about taking your lemons and turning them into something worth drinking.  Simple, delicious, maybe even a little nostalgic.

Together? That's basically the Gremlin Wrangler philosophy in beverage form.

Laugh at the chaos. Make something sweet out of the sour bits. Repeat as necessary.

If you're looking for a way to mark the occasion: find something that makes you properly, undignifiedly laugh today. You should snort loudly or make that noise like Muttley from Wacky Races.  Bonus points if it's something you made yourself. Double bonus if it involves a gremlin ...or six.

May your lemons be plentiful and your laughter be the kind that makes your face hurt.
